April is #PoetryMonth and imo there’s no better time to read poetry than right now. For me, I’m having trouble concentrating for longer periods of time, and poetry not only offers smaller capsules of reading but has the power to shake up your brain for a second — with an image, an arrangement of words, a point of focus that expands into a whole world, a musical rhythm that moves through your body. I love poetry, and right now one of the things I love most about it is that I can have a whole reading experience in just a few lines or pages, in a time when anxiety and depression are always lurking around my edges.
